Overview

Calderis is the primary recruiting world of the Blood Ravens, since the destruction of Cyrene. It was first settled before the age of the Imperium.

Like most feudal worlds, the Planetary Governor lives in orbit around the planet, only checking to make sure the tithes of mean and ore are paid and controlling the mutation on the planet. The Blood Ravens do not maintain a constant presence on the planet, opting to return every few years or decades to recruit.

However, due to the losses incurred during the Kauravan Campaign, the Blood Ravens are now dangerously undermanned. Thus Captain Davian Thule of the Fourth Company has been sent to Calderis to recruit.

First Aurelian Crusade

Calderis is one of the planets fought over in the First Aurelian Crusade. When Ork Waaagh! threatens to wrench it from the Imperium's grip, the Blood Ravens sent Aramus to lead an elite strikeforce to head off this threat.

It was on Calderis that Aramus discovered that the Eldar were manipulating the Orks to undermine the Blood Ravens defenses. It was also here that the Tyranids made themselves known, and during the first hours of the Tyranid invasion of Calderis that Davian Thule was mortally wounded by an Alpha Tyranid Warrior.

With the Tyranid menace threatening to destroy the recruiting worlds of the Blood Ravens, Captain Gabriel Angelos leads the Third Company to reinforce Aramus.

As they are weeks away, it falls to Aramus to defend the Blood Ravens recruiting worlds from the Xeno menace.

The Ork Warboss is eventually found here, where Aramus' elite strikeforce finally eliminates him, completing his original mission to Calderis.
